GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Please send submissions as a PDF to our email theampquarterly@gmail.com (we may transition to Submittable in the future).
    • Please review the issue theme and genre guidelines in mind when writing and submitting! You do not HAVE to include the two specific words in your writing. In fact, we encourage you not to do so. Think about the feelings, vibes, and burning sensations each word gives you. Your pen will figure the rest out, we hope.
    • The subject of your email should be the name of the author and the genre of work(s).
    • We encourage writers also to include a cover letter and bio in the body of the email, the latter of which will be published alongside their work(s) if accepted. In the cover letter, please also briefly describe why your piece ties into our quarterly theme.
  • We do not consider previously published works.
  • We consider works of poetry, short fiction, short nonfiction, photography, art, and multimedia. Also open to any hybrid forms. Soft word count is 3000. When in doubt, send it in!
  • Works that perpetuate sexism, racism, or any form of intolerance and discrimination will be disqualified from consideration.
  • We do not consider works that are generated by AI.
  • We accept edited versions of previous submissions on the basis that the edits are significant and meaningful.
  • We allow and encourage simultaneous submissions, but please email us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
  • We strive to respond to submissions within two weeks. If you have not heard from us after 30 days, feel free to inquire about the status of your submission.
  • We are not a paying market at this time.
  • If your work is brilliant but does not necessarily adhere to our themes, we may still accept it for general publication on our site.
